UK weather maps turn orange as 22C scorcher to hit in days - check your area (2025)

Brits are bracing for a scorching follow-up to the Easter Holiday as hot weather is predicted to hit the UK in just a few days. The hot weather is predicted for April 30, offering a welcome break from the gloomy grey skies and sporadic showers. Predictions from a new Netweather map suggest temperatures rising to 22C in the South East, with almost all of England soaring to the high teens. London, the Home Counties and Norfolk will see the highest temperatures, while coastal areas will be slightly cooler, according to the forecast.

Separately, a Met Office forecast covering April 20 to April 29 said: "Mainly unsettled conditions are likely across the UK at the start of this period. Showers or longer spells of rain are probable across many regions, these heavy at times with a risk of hail and thunder, perhaps accompanied by strong winds.

"Some drier and brighter interludes are also likely at times, but probably with large amounts of cloud. Temperatures will generally be near average".

The Met Office has stated: "Temperatures will probably be around or slightly above average".

The forecast also predicts mid-May temperatures, with the report suggesting: "Late April into early May will probably see a good deal of settled weather with high pressure patterns most likely to dominate".

However, it adds that "whilst some spells of more unsettled weather are possible at times - these perhaps more likely towards mid-May - much of the period is expected to be largely fine and dry. Temperatures are expected to be near or slightly above average".
